Want to learn how to build things with electronics, computers, and microcontrollers but need a little help?   This workshop will explore the basics of electronics and microcontrollers -- LEDs, transistors, resistors, motors, integrated circuits, and sensors using solderless breadboards, one of the more commonly used electrical engineering prototyping tools. We will work together on a series of interesting circuits and programs using the Arduino.

What's the Arduino?

From www.arduino.cc -- "Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It's intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments."  

Dates:   February 4 - March 31  (8 sessions, no class on Feb 25)

Time:   Saturdays from 10:00am-11:30 p.m.  There is a 30 minute period between the end of class and the beginning of Saturday "open-shop", so students are welcome to stick around and work some on class (or other) projects during open-shop time.

Cost:  $200, sliding scale  (+ approximately $50 in materials costs for those who want to take their projects home)

Age:  10 and up
